Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced QAQC Electrical Engineer to join our growing EPC team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in quality assurance and quality control for solar power projects, including floating, ground-mounted, and rooftop solar installations. This role requires extensive travel across project sites in India to ensure compliance with design specifications, industry standards, and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and monitor QAQC plans, procedures, and checklists for electrical systems in solar EPC projects.
• Conduct quality inspections and audits at project sites for floating, ground-mounted, and rooftop solar installations.
• Review electrical drawings, BOQs, specifications, and method statements to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Inspect and approve electrical equipment and materials (cables, switchgear, inverters, transformers, modules, etc.) prior to installation.
• Supervise and witness electrical testing activities such as insulation resistance, continuity, polarity, earth resistance, and commissioning tests.
• Ensure adherence to Indian electrical standards (IS), IEC standards, MNRE guidelines, and client-specific quality standards.
• Prepare daily/weekly QAQC reports, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and corrective action reports (CARs).
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, subcontractors, and vendors to resolve quality-related issues promptly.
• Maintain comprehensive QAQC documentation, inspection records, and as-built drawings for project handover.
• Promote a culture of safety and quality across all project sites and ensure compliance with HSE policies.
Required Qualifications & Skills
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (B.E. / B.Tech) from a recognized institution.
• 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in QAQC for electrical systems within EPC projects, preferably in the solar/renewable energy sector.
• Proven experience across floating solar, ground-mounted solar, and rooftop solar project types.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes and standards: IS, IEC, NEC, and MNRE technical specifications.
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting single-line diagrams (SLDs), cable routing layouts, and electrical schematics.
• Hands-on experience with electrical testing instruments and commissioning procedures for solar power plants.
• Familiarity with quality management systems (ISO 9001) and documentation practices.
• Excellent communication, reporting, and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Willingness to travel extensively across India to project sites as required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Certifications in Quality Management (ISO 9001 Lead Auditor, Six Sigma, etc.)
• NABET accreditation or equivalent environmental/quality certifications.
• Experience with SCADA, string monitoring units, and central monitoring systems for solar plants.
• Prior experience working with DISCOMs, state nodal agencies, or central government solar schemes.
